Free Photo and Video Contract Template
The photography and videography industry is full of twists and turns and you never know how things might end up if you don't have your bases covered. A photography and videography agreement/contract is a must have when doing business with any client. It's a sense of security for the client and for the photo and/or video company if anything were to go sideways. Trust us, it will go sideways.
A contract should include coverage time (as in, how long a videographer or photographer will be at your venue), how many shooters you'll have, an itemized list of the finished product (highlight reels, trailers, digital media files), nitty-gritty logistical details (time and location), cancellation policies and, of course, the fee. If it's not outlined in the contract, don't assume you're going to get it. Any extras, like an engagement video session or a same-day edit, need to be in there. If they're not and you want them, ask about it. We use contracts for just about everything including: client contracts, independent contractor contracts, trade/barter agreement contracts, gear rental contracts, etc.
After years of contract modifying, trial and error, and finding the best way to implement legal terms yet keeping it readable and understandable, we've come up with a photo and video contract template that we'd like to share for free. It's in our best interest to help save you time and provide a base contract that isn't confusing or filled with legal terms that nobody can understand.
